  Accordingtooneoftheworld'sleadingspecialistinancientinscriptions,AndreLemaireoftheSorbonneUniversityinParis,theAramaicwordsetchedonthebox'ssideshowacursiveformofwritingusedonlyfromabout10to70AD.Ancientinscriptionsaretypicallyfoundonroyalmonumentsoronlavishtombs,commemoratingrulersandotherofficialfigures.ButJesus,whowasraisedbyacarpenter,wasamanofthepeople,sofindingdocumentationofhisfamilyisunexpected.ThefindisalsosignificantinthatitcorroboratestheexistenceofJoseph,Jesus'father,andJames,Jesus’brotherandaleaderoftheearlyChristianchurchinJerusalem.ThefamilyrelationshipscontainedontheossuaryhelpedexpertsuncoverthattheinscriptionverylikelyreferstothebiblicalJames,brotherofJesus.Althoughallthreenameswerecommoninancienttimes,thestatisticalprobabilityoftheirappearinginthatcombinationisextremel***addition,thementionofabrotherisunusual,indicatingthatthisJesusmusthavebeenawell-knownfigure.

  耶稣的兄弟
